TREATING LOWER FACE LAXITY, JOWLS & SAGGING SKIN

The Clinical Picture

1

Gravity & Volume Loss: The formation of jowls is rarely a local issue; it is a symptom of volume loss higher up in the mid-face. As the zygomatic (cheek) fat pads atrophy and the bony support diminishes with age, the soft tissues of the face lose their anchorage. Gravity then takes over, causing the skin envelope to descend and pool along the mandibular border (jawline). This disrupts the sharp definition of the jaw, creating the heaviness we call "jowls."

Our Medical Approach

2

Attempting to "fill" the jowl directly is a clinical error that leads to a heavy, square lower face. Instead, our treatment focuses on restoring structural support in the mid-face. By replacing volume at specific anatomical anchor points (the zygoma and the gonial angle), we can re-tension the facial ligaments. This supports the falling tissue, lifting it back to its original position and reducing heaviness at the jawline naturally.

Clinical Solutions

3

Mid-Face Volume Replacement:

Restoring cheek volume is the primary method to hoist the lower face and reduce nasolabial folds.

Jawline Structuring:

Restoring the posterior jaw angle helps to tension the skin and pull back the loose tissue contributing to the jowl.

Profhilo®:

For patients with superficial skin laxity, we use bio-remodelling injectables to stimulate elastin and tighten the skin envelope itself.

SCULPTRA® (COLLAGEN STIMULATOR)

Not a filler. A bio-stimulator (Poly-L-Lactic Acid) that triggers your body to produce its own collagen to replace lost volume gradually over 6 months.

Treating the lower face requires respect for the facial artery and sensitive nerve pathways. We utilise high-G-prime fillers that mimic bone, placed deeply to ensure they are undetectable by touch. This provides structural lift without looking "puffy" or distorted. Our goal is to make you look refreshed and structurally sound, not "done."
