The ECM & Light Reflection: "Dull skin" is a lay term for a lack of light reflection. Medically, healthy skin is characterised by a smooth stratum corneum (surface) and a hydrated dermis. When light hits healthy skin, it bounces off evenly, creating a "glow."
Dullness occurs when the Extracellular Matrix (ECM) becomes dehydrated, or when cell turnover slows down, leaving a layer of dead, irregular cells on the surface. This absorbs light rather than reflecting it, leading to a flat, grey, or tired complexion.
Our Medical Approach

Topical moisturisers only treat the very outer layer of the skin (epidermis). To treat true dullness, we must hydrate the deep dermis.
We use injectable hyaluronic acid and bio-stimulators to flood the "matrix" of the skin with hydration. This improves cellular signaling and physiological function.
We do not aim to change your facial shape; our sole focus here is improving the biological quality of the tissue.

Profhilo® (Bio-Remodeller):
Profhilo® is a completely unique category of injectable medicine known as Bio-Remodelling. Unlike dermal fillers (which stay where you put them to add volume), Profhilo® is thermally stabilised using patented NAHYCO® Technology. This means it does not contain chemical cross-linking agents (BDDE). Once injected, it flows like honey under the skin, spreading evenly through the tissue. It stays in the skin for 28 days, acting as a "hydrating signal." This triggers a massive biological response, stimulating the production of 4 different types of Collagen and Elastin. The result is not a change in face shape, but a physiological improvement in tissue quality and tightness.
Newest® (Hybrid):
A dual-action gel containing Polynucleotides + Hyaluronic Acid. Best for patients who need hydration plus repair (e.g., for acne scarring or sun damage).
Stylage Hydromax (Deep Hydration):
"heavy duty" booster containing Sorbitol. It is highly cross-linked to provide long-lasting moisture for very dry or mature skin.
Restylane Skinboosters (Light Hydration):
Perfect for fine crepey lines and creating a "glass skin" finish on the surface.
Polynucleotides (Plinest):
For dullness caused by stress or inflammation. It repairs the cells to restore a healthy tone without adding water volume.
While these treatments are "superficial," safety is paramount. We use specific injection techniques (such as the BAP technique for Profhilo) to avoid major vessels and nerves. As GPs, we also assess your skin for signs of systemic dehydration or vitamin deficiency which may be contributing to the dullness.
