MENS AESTHETICS IN MANCHESTER BY DR ANDY & DR ANDREW
OUR ORIGINS: BUILT FOR MEN FIRST
Specialists, Not Generalists
Unlike clinics that treat men as an "add-on," we established our practice with a dedicated focus on the male face. We understand that male aesthetic goals are the direct inverse of female ones: women often seek softness and lift, whereas men require angularity, width, and definition.
Structure Over Volume
Because of our background, we do not simply "tweak" female techniques for men’s aesthetics. In our manchester clinic, we use entirely different protocols that prioritise Structure over Volume. We use high-density fillers to mimic bone architecturally, sharpening the jaw and chin, rather than "puffing out" the face. This ensures the result looks like strong genetics, not cosmetic work.
The Clinical Picture: Male Anatomy
Men do not age like women, and they should not be treated like women. Biologically, male skin is 25% thicker with higher collagen density, and the facial muscles are significantly stronger.
Our aesthetics treatments for men approach is strictly anatomical. In our Manchester clinic we do not aim for "beautification" or the "frozen" look often associated with the aesthetics industry. Instead, we use specific male protocols to maintain structure and reduce the visible signs of fatigue. The goal is undetectable maintenance: you should look rested and sharp, not "done."
Jawline Structure & Chin Profile
A strong, square lower face is a primary marker of masculinity. Often, a recessive chin or a soft jawline can unbalance the profile, making the nose appear larger and the neck heavier. We use high-density structural fillers to mimic bone, projecting the chin and widening the jaw angle.
This creates a sharper frame that separates the face from the neck, balancing the profile without adding unnecessary bulk.
Male Anti-Wrinkle Treatments ("Brotox")
Because male facial muscles are stronger, they require adjusted dosages and precise placement to be effective. The aim here is not to freeze the face, but to soften the deep, etched lines on the forehead and the glabellar "frown lines" that can create an unintended look of anger or stress.
We preserve the movement of the brow to ensure your expression remains natural and masculine.
The “Athlete's Face" (Volume Restoration)
We treat a high volume of men who engage in high-intensity training (Hyrox, CrossFit, Endurance Running). While low body fat is excellent for health, it accelerates facial ageing by depleting the deep fat pads in the cheeks and temples.
This leads to a gaunt, hollowed appearance under the eyes. We medically restore this deep volume to provide support to the mid-face, lifting the tired shadow and reversing the "haggard" look caused by extreme fitness.
Hair Loss & Retention Protocols
Most men wait until visible balding occurs before seeking help. Our medical goal is retention, not just replacement. We intervene during the early thinning phase using regenerative injectables—specifically Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) and Polynucleotides—to stimulate dormant follicles and thicken the hair shaft.
This allows us to preserve density and slow the progression of hair loss without the downtime of surgery.
STRAIGHT ANSWERS: FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS aBOUT MENS AESTHETICS
-
No. The "frozen" look is a result of poor technique or excessive dosing. Our medical protocol is conservative. We reduce muscle activity just enough to smooth the static lines, not enough to paralyse your expression. You will still look like you.
-
For most treatments, we advise waiting 24 hours before heavy exercise. High-intensity training (Hyrox, heavy lifting, running) increases blood pressure and heart rate, which can increase swelling or displace the product immediately after injection. We recommend scheduling your appointment on a rest day.
-
Discomfort is negligible. We use strong prescription numbing cream prior to treatment. Furthermore, our dermal fillers contain integrated Lidocaine (local anaesthetic), so the area numbs instantly as we work. Most men describe the sensation as a momentary scratch or feeling of pressure, not acute pain.
-
Most treatments are effectively a "lunchtime procedure." For anti-wrinkle treatments, there is zero visible downtime—you can return to work immediately. For jawline or chin fillers, you may have minor swelling or a bruised sensation for 24-48 hours, but this is rarely noticeable to others.
-
Anti-Wrinkle (Brotox): Typically 3 to 4 months. Metabolism and high activity levels can affect this.
Jawline & Structural Filler: 12 to 18 months.
Hair Retention (PRP): Requires an initial course, followed by maintenance every 6 months.

1. The Highest Level of Training (CCT)
We are not just "trained in aesthetics"; we are fully qualified General Practitioners holding the Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT). This is the gold standard of medical qualification in the UK, representing over 10 years of rigorous medical education, hospital rotations, and assessment.
2. We Treat Pathology, Not Just Aesthetics
As GPs, we do not view the skin merely as a canvas for cosmetic work; we view it as a vital organ. In our daily medical practice, we diagnose and manage complex dermatological conditions, from acne and rosacea to suspicious lesions. This means our aesthetic assessments are grounded in medical dermatology.
